| Tasting notes från Malt Maniacs: | Jim Murray tasting notes: |
| Convalmore 24yo 1978/2003 (59.4%, UD Rare Malts) Nose: Rich and polished at first, then organics emerge. Taste: Sweet; that's all that my notes say I'm afraid Score: 75 points - I wasn't impressed at all. |
Nose: Peaches and cream ... and pretty juice peach at that. One of the fruitiest
noses on the market. Taste: Not even a straffing of searing spices can reduce the peachy onslaught. About as juicy and salivating as it gets for a malt so old. Finish: An abrupt entry of cocoa-dusted oak plus some lingering barley. Balance: Another stunning version of a much-missed distillery, begging the question as to why it was ever closed. |
