Tasting notes från Malt Maniacs: Officiella tasting notes:
Inga Designed by Delme Evans and built in 1967 for Mackinlay’s, the distillery is situated in the shadow of Ben Rinnes, just to the south of its sister distillery, Aberlour. Eleven years in an active American hogshead has given this bottling a fine pale amber colour, although the strength has remained very high. The unreduced nose is prickly but not impossible to penetrate: an appetising combination of pastry and baked fruit: apple tart, pear flan, then we fixed upon caramelised apple strudel. It takes a bucket of water and presents Speyside acetone to start; clean and fresh with a trace of oiliness (hazelnuts), marshmallows, coconut and peppermint. The flavour is not quite as sweet as the nose suggests it might be, but it is smooth and mouthcooling (after you have swallowed) with traces of sweet malt.
