Inga Comments: A different Port Ellen than the smokyones that we have often encountered. This bottling is a sweet expression with the smoke very much in the background.
Tasting notes: The nose contains a lot of butterscotch and noted from the sherry cask. Dried fruits mingles with honey and a spicy sweetness. Some burnt sugars and hints of smoke. It has a fat and rounded mouth feeling balanced out with a bite from the wood. Spiciness together with sweetness covers the fine smoke impressions. The finish is long and a bit peary.
