Mina kommentarer:
Näst bästa whiskyn jag smakat!
Doft: svavel, sherry, vanilj, torkad persika
Smak: UNDERBAR! sötma, torkad frukt, sherry, rök och torv
Eftersmak: lång, frukt, rök och kryddor
Min poäng: 95 p
Tasting notes från Malt Maniacs: Jim Murray notes:

After a little break to give my tastebuds a rest I proceeded with a sample of the overall winner of the 2003 edition of the MM Awards; the Talisker 20yo 1981/2002 (62%, OB, Sherry, 9000 Bottles).
Nose: Coffee. Tia Maria? Ah, now it opens up into rich sherry and fruits. Fabulous!
Very complex organics. Hint of peat in the background. Good wood - like an old Macallan.
Palate: Sweet and smoky. Great wood. Long finish. An overproof malt, but I hardly noticed it.
Score: 93 points . Interestingly enough, it almost smells like an old Macallan to me.
The very best Talisker I've had so far; a work of art.

Nose: An exceptional sherry butt that brilliantly allows full scope for the spicy excesses of the distillery to spill over: sensational.
Taste: Almost unreal marriage of ultra rich and clean sherry with explosive peat. The usual Talisker vicousness with the sherry somehow hanging on for the ride
Finish: Quietens to something approaching mere fireworks with the spices now being slightly subdued by the fruit... though not quite.
Balance: I have been tasting Talisker for 28 years. This is the best bottling ever. Miss this and your life will be incomplete.
